October 01, 2026 2 min read

Everlast Gyms are an exceptional example of how a health and fitness site uses Wattbikes to give their new members a head start.

Upon initiation in 2021, the brand now oversees a portfolio of 61 sites in the UK and ROI. Each site is designed to merge a traditional health and fitness space with the premium feel of a boutique studio.

Each gym floor boats an impressive array of equipment and exercise spaces including Hyrox specific training stations, a comprehensive strength training setup and a full range of cardio equipment. On top of this, the ‘Everlast+’ sites, the chains premium offering, host spa facilities including outdoor pools, saunas and hot tubs.

There is something for every gym goer at each site.

They are a brand in touch with the latest trends in health and fitness and have a clear understanding of what their members want.

“Everything within the gym has to have a purpose,” explains Martin Oakey, Head of Fitness for the brand.

This is where Wattbike comes in.

Keen to expand the brand’s onboarding offering, Everlast developed their ‘Move’ product. ‘Move’ targets the first 30-90 days of a member’s journey with the gym, focused on giving them benchmarking data and integrating training habits into their routine.

Wattbike seamlessly fits into this process, with the Healthspan Check acting as the perfect way to benchmark cardiovascular fitness and providing an accurate VO₂ Max estimate.

“I wanted a great piece of kit which can tell me VO₂ max and peak power metrics and then deliver those metrics back to me in an easy-to-understand way,” Martin Oakey explains. “We can go through a test (on the Wattbike), benchmark where you are at and then see improvements. That is huge motivation when (a member) knows they are improving over time.”Crucially, not only does Wattbike provide best in class data, it is also highly accessible. Unlike running or weightlifting, the barrier to entry required to ride a Wattbike is very low, allowing users from all backgrounds access to precise training and benchmarking.

You don’t need to wear a mask and attend a lab to obtain a VO₂ Max score and you don’t need to perform a heavy barbell squat to measure explosive power; you can instead use the Wattbike.

“It doesn’t matter the level of fitness you have coming in- whether it is someone passionate about Hyrox, someone looking to improve their strength, a competitive boxer or somebody returning to the gym for the first time in over a decade- they still need to know where their fitness level is currently at so they can monitor improvements.” Oakey continues.

Everlast exemplify our approach-Test, Train, Repeat.

Wattbike are currently in 10 Everlast Gyms with plans to expand into more sites in the near future.
