Ventoux Cycling Studio: Redefining Indoor Cycling With Wattbike

October 31, 2024 4 min read

Ventoux Cycling Studio based in Newry, Northern Ireland, offers a premium indoor cycling experience equipped with 21 Wattbike AtomX. Ventoux offers classes to all fitness levels that are designed to enhance cycling performance, strength, and endurance.

Transforming Training with Wattbike AtomX

At the core of Ventoux’s offering are the Wattbike AtomX smart bikes, known for its high-precision (+/- 1%) and realistic ride experience. These bikes deliver real-time feedback on pedalling efficiency, power, and cadence, but most importantly the electromagnetic-powered ergo mode allows the bike to automatically change resistance. So people with varying abilities and fitness levels can train together on the same program, making each session both engaging and highly personalised.

At Ventoux, the team use Intelligent cycling to run their classes. Each bike is connected to the intelligent cycling app where the coaches can plan and set the workout for the whole studio. However the fitness levels of each member may differ, and this is where the AtomX gives a bespoke experience for each rider. When joining Ventoux members will go through one of the Wattbike fitness tests built into the bike giving them an FTP score.  Each time they come to do a class they’ll add their FTP score and based on the plan from the coach, it will then give them a bespoke session. Making sure that they hit the right stimulus and get the correct resistance to hit the goal of the session.

Who Trains at Ventoux

From everyday fitness enthusiasts to elite sporting teams and individuals and the growing need for businesses to diversify their clientele, Ventoux has always been one step ahead utilising not only their own facility but also partnering with a neighbouring business and supporting the needs of the local sporting community. Ventoux has partnered with Infinity Swim to give the ultimate Triathlon experience. You can go from the pool to the bikes in seconds with the pool being below the studio giving triathletes the best experience of race simulation.

Furthermore, the cycling studio helps support local Gaelic football teams and sports clubs not only with the performance testing of their players but also offer bespoke sessions to help with their aerobic fitness both in and out of season, for those longer workouts in the saddle.

They see a whole range of individuals through their studio and from the elite to the fitness beignner and the Wattbike AtomX can cater for every individual’s needs to give them the best experience.

The Ventoux team chose Wattbike AtomX not just for its innovation, but because it meets the needs of those looking to get the most out of their indoor ccycling experience. Esepcially when seeking superior performance improvement through structured, interactive workouts.

But don’t just take it from us, hear from the owners Owen & Aishling on their story and why they chose Wattbike to power their studio.

How long has Ventoux been running and what inspired you to start the cycling studio?

Ventoux has been open for 7 years this October and the main reason to open was to get people off the local roads which are quite dangerous and offer a safe place to train. We wanted to reate a social space for people to meet and promote well being through physical exercise.

What is the most rewarding part of building this community and how do you see Ventoux evolving over the next few years?

What makes me very happy is when one of our customers comes to me and tells me a personal story about how we as a club and facility have greatly improved their physical but most importantly mental well-being. With our new Wattbikes, it opens up a lot more possibilities to enhance their experience. We have big goals and aspirations as a business and to date, we have helped 100’s of ordinary people achieve their goals no matter their fitness level which makes me very proud indeed.

Why did you choose Wattbike as your primary training bike and how does it complement the training experience your members will get?

I myself have used Wattbike for many years and when we first opened, we used Wattbike to do all of our fitness testing with our customers. We could set heart rate zones and get accurate data to help them with their fitness goals. Now with the new Wattbike set up, it just broadens the scale of the service we can offer. They will be mind-blown!

Why is Studio Cycling a go to Class in the Fitness Industry

Ventoux offers more than just a workout; it creates an inclusive community that’s as welcoming to beginners as it is to experienced riders. With coaching support, bespoke training programs, and the advanced Wattbike setup, riders can enjoy group training sessions that still provide individualised, performance-focused insights.

Setting the Standard for Indoor Cycling

Ventoux isn’t just a studio—it’s a state-of-the-art training facility that showcases the best in indoor cycling. By collaborating with Wattbike, Ventoux continues to set the standard in Northern Ireland for cycling enthusiasts and athletes seeking to push their limits with cutting-edge equipment.
